Our 1st edition of the DIDA Chess in schools annual tournament on 23rd - 24th November, was organised and conducted with SOM Chess Academy in Budaka. The two day event attracted over 140 students from different community schools namely; Nakisenyi, Kaperi, Budaka, Kaderuna and Itangholi. The tournament was the first of its kind in the region and concluded successfully with Makanga Hassan and Namutebi Marian being the best in the boys and the girls categories respectively. The duo is set to travel to Kampala for their first time to take part in the 14th Edition of SOM Chess Academy Annual Chess Championship.
